Annex expands with new recruits and office in Melbourne

In its fourth year of operation, The Annex, based in Sydney, has announced a number of senior executive hires and plans to open an office in Melbourne.

The Annex was put together by Mardi Caught, an experienced executive of an international label, to work with artists, executives, agents, publicists and labels to tailor and implement marketing strategies. at a time when it was difficult to break national acts.

Elinor Williams, who joins the newly created role of Director of Client Strategy, was most recently the senior marketing strategist of TMRW Music and has worked with electronic artists across Europe. Throughout his time with TMRW, Williams has been on the TMN 30 Under 30 roster.

Williams will set up the Melbourne office when COVID-19 restrictions allow.

Caught said: “Melbourne is a place close to my musical heart, and it thrills me that we can finally have a representative there to help the growth of local artists and labels.”

Head of Label Strategy Hannah Heyen has experience in public relations and copywriting since her stint with Netflix and Spotify.

They join Casey Logemann and Isabelle Galet-Lalande in the day-to-day liaison and execution of their clients’ strategies.

Logemann, as an artist and songwriter engaging in production, touring and performance, takes on the role of Head of Customer Services.

Galet-Lalande joins the specialist project management, after having worked for Spotify and more recently Warner Music Australia.

Caught added: “These are key roles in the company and they bring a wealth of expertise and experience to the team.”

Since launching The Annex, he has led international campaigns for Genesis Owusu and Passenger while coordinating # 1 album rollouts for Sheppard, Violent Soho and Lime Cordiale.

The company has also worked on incoming international projects such as Porter Robinson, Adam Lambert, and Tai Verdes.

Caught was previously Managing Director of Frontline Marketing at Warner Music and previously held positions in the UK as Director of International Marketing and Promotions for EMI, Vice President of Talent and Music at MTV UK and Director Columbia Music General Sony.

She returned to Australia in 2009 to take on the role of Managing Director of Day One Entertainment at Sony Music Australia, before joining Warner Music in 2010 where she remained until 2017, as Managing Director and then Managing Director of Atlantic. Records.
