After releasing the new song “Absurd” live at Fenway Park in Boston earlier this week, Guns N ‘Roses have now released an official studio version of the song.
“Absurd” is the band’s first new track since 2008 Chinese democracy album and first new studio recording with guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, who joined the band in 2016, since the release of the The spaghetti incident?, Guns N ‘Roses cover album in 1993.
Parts of the track are recycled from “Silkworms”, an abandoned song from the Chinese democracy sessions that date back to 2001. “Absurd”, however, ditched electronic banter and mostly left the introductory riff and verse intact, while stacking guitar solos and lead breaks in place of those wrecked elements. .

Hear motherfuckers the song that should be heard
Going back down the gutter is more than you deserve
Scream fucking banshee, you know that’s what you are
Pussy full of maggots, ain’t that absurd
Little dreamer stunned with his head bowed in the stars
Fucking little schemer got lost in art
Baby syphilitic priestess, I know who you are
A parasitic demon sucks acid in your heartAbsurd
