Singing along to the humble hits of musical legends is the perfect way to celebrate their birthdays. Rahul Dev Burman commonly known as RD Burman or Pancham Da was the supreme music composer who captured the hearts of countless Indians with his distinctive and sound inspired music compositions.

The prototype musician was born on June 27, 1939 in Kolkata (then Calcutta) to the great composer Sachin Dev Burman.

Despite the fact that his father’s well-known fame gave him a lot of power, Pancham Da quickly rose to fame in the music industry.

When the musical genius was nine years old, his father taught him to write. Her first song was “Aye Meri Topi Palat Ke Aa”. The song was used in the 1956 film Funtoosh.

Burman, credited for introducing jazz and the electronic rock genre to Bollywood, transformed the Indian music scene with his singular ability to fuse international music with his catalog of soulful and melodic tracks. He was a successful musician who could play anything, even unusual music.

He also put in a lot of effort, writing 331 songs, including some of his most enduring songs for his sister-in-law, the legendary Lata Mangeshkar.
