Steve aoki is no stranger to experimenting with global sounds. After all, he himself is a global icon and one of the most prominent Asian-American artists. Now for her latest single, “Siliwa Hay”He is betting on a truly global production, by engaging the Brazilian production duo Chemical surfing, Israeli producer Zafrir, and Ghanaian singer Max-Africana for an afro-beat inspired track, which still has that unique Steve Aoki flair.

The track opens with a snare drum which is built in the background alongside an African song. After the build-up is complete, there is a vocal / chorus song. The drop is pretty much a four-four beat, with technical synths playing in the background. However, it is the vocal vocals that sets the track apart from anything else. According to Zafrir, the vocal hook is a Ghanaian chant. Siliwa apparently translates to “fluid and all good things will be with you”. Sounds like a very good idea to me. The track continues with its relentless groove and worldly flair. Here’s what Steve had to say about “Siliwa Hay”.

“’Siliwa Hay’ is my first collaboration with Chemical Surf and Zafrir, and it’s really a global collaboration. With Chemical Surf from Brazil, Zafrir from Israel and the track with vocals by Max-Africana, we were all able to come together to create this dancefloor anthem that brings each of our electronic sounds together with an overall rhythm that I can ‘I do’. don’t wait for you all to dance.
