Sammy Hagar is known as the Red Rocker, but he may be wearing silver and black this afternoon, as he performs at the Las Vegas Raiders game halftime show against the Cincinnati Bengals at Allegiant Stadium in Sin City.
Hagar will be joined by the guitarist Vic johnson, member of Sammy’s support groups The circle and The Wabo, and the two musicians will be accompanied by the Raiders House Band.
Hagar’s ensemble to include performances by his former band Van halen‘s “Right Now” and his 1982 solo song “There’s Only One Way to Rock”.
“It’s going to be great to come out… and rock the Raiders halftime show,” Hagar said in a statement. “I have a lot of respect for [Raiders owner] Marc davis and it’s amazing what he and his team brought to Las Vegas, which is like a second home for me… I’ve done some cool things in my life, and it’s up there.
Sammy recently completed a series of sold-out “Sammy Hagar and Friends” shows instead of Las Vegas The Strat.
Hagar becomes the latest in a string of music stars who have played Raiders home games this season, joining Carlos santana, electronic music artist DJ Marshmello and rappers Ludacris, Too short and Ice Cube.
The Raiders-Bengals match begins at 4:05 p.m. ET / 1:05 p.m. PT.
Meanwhile, Hagar and The Circle will wrap up their 2021 touring schedule next month with the “A Toast to Texas” trek, a four-show outing that takes place on December 3 in Fort Worth, December 4 in San Antonio, on December 6 in Austin and December 8 in Houston.
